The second day of our wedding celebrations started with a Ganesh Pooja. It’s done for an auspicious start to an important venture or relationship. (I may have squeezed in a little nap on my Dad’s shoulder!) The Pooja was then followed by pre-wedding rituals and at last our Haldi ceremony! In my family, the bride/groom don’t usually want to be covered in Haldi and want to keep it very minimal! Me on the other hand, especially after watching all these Bollywood wedding movies (YJHD) with Haldi ceremonies, wanted it just like that! I really enjoyed the Haldi so much, it was one of the best times I had with all my girlfriends and family!
Last year my mom, a couple of friends, their moms, and I took a trip to Dehli for the annual Vogue wedding show! While we were there we decided we had to go to Chandni Chowk, the classic location from KG3, which we all were obsessed with as kids! So following our curiosity we went there and visited this store called Asiana Couture. We didn’t go with the intention of shopping but when I saw this beautiful lengha I had to get it! It was the unusual grey/lilac/blue colour that made me want this lengha! I initially picked it up with the intention to wear it at a cousins wedding in the future but then decided to wear it for my own Pooja/Haldi function!
