Game of Thrones is probably the most amazing fantasy drama series. Each episode always keeps you on the edge of your seat! There are many astonishing characters in the show, but one of my favourite characters in terms of style has to be Daenerys Targaryen aka Khaleesi the mother of dragons.
I do love love love the tv show and if don’t watch it already please go watch the first episode right now! Sadly I haven’t read the books yet but hopefully I’ll find time soon.
A few weeks ago when I was cleaning my closet I found this old dress which my Mum got for me years ago. The light lavender colour, the details at the neckline, and that slight drape instantly reminded me of the Khaleesi!
Game of Thrones season 5 is coming up, so I figured it is the perfect time to do a post inspired by Daenerys Targaryen. It’s a modern-day look inspired by her style on the show, and not so much of a costume.
A lot of you who have been following my blog, probably have noticed I don’t ever do anything to my hair! There was this one post where I had a top–bun but that was it. However, for this look, the hair was so essential! The character of Khaleesi on the show always has these beautiful but simple hairdos which always caught my eye, so this was my opportunity to try one out! I feel the hair really adds to the whole look because it instantly gives you the right vibe of the character’s style.
My mum got this dress for me years ago, when I probably couldn’t even fit into it right. All I knew about the dress was that it was from this small boutique in Bangkok. It’s so simple that there was so much accessorising to do! I found this neck cuff in the stash of Navratri jewellery a few months ago and I got the bangles from forever 21. Both of these pieces of jewellery have a tribal vibe to it which compliments the Khaleesi’s character. Also, I used this pink chiffon stole, as a drape element to the outfit. I tied the stole on my arms on both side, and let it hang down in the back.
I added on these gorgeous golden and black gladiator heels I found at Zara, Milan during my trip there in Autumn, and this metallic golden clutch from platinum. The gladiator heels really turn this look into a modern-day Khaleesi outfit, and the clutch added on to the whole look. You could go attend a daytime, sundown or even a night event in this outfit as pastel colours are also trending high. I finished the look with some of these amazing flash tattoos I’m in love with!
