90’s Kid

The 90’s have made a comeback in the fashion world! It’s all about bell-bottom trousers, choker necklaces, neon accents and the list can go on! All of these things are considered fashionable or ‘trendy’ right now because that is what the industry is producing this season. On the other hand, style is very subjective and it’s what you choose and how you make it all work together. I am very particular about my style and there are certain things always make me cringe! For example, I cannot do animal print or velvet chokers. I believe you should encourage yourself to be experimental and be open to trying different styles, colours, and stepping out of your comfort zone. However, you should also gradually start creating a mental list of what you like and don’t like in order to find your aesthetic(s).

Being a 90’s kid, watching Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon filled my childhood. I remember eating Willy Wonka candies, playing my Gameboy, and wearing overalls! This also means everytime I see overalls now I get (a little too) excited. I picked up these particular neon printed dungarees from London just over two years ago from a store in Westfield. They are the most striking item of this look, but I still went ahead and added more vibrant pieces such as the gold sneakers and electric blue backpack!
