DŌ – New York

A trip to New York for me wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the current ‘must go to/must eat at’ dessert places. The last time I was there the “must eat at” location was the Dominique Ansel bakery. Their chocolate cookie shots were amazing. This time around I ventured out to learn if dreams dōugh come true!

On my first day in NYC I texted my favourite source for food places in NYC, one of my closest friends and unofficial food critic – Net Supatravanij. After she raved about DŌ, I had to check it out.

As one of the newest talked about places in NYC, there was a long line outside DŌ. I guess I could say we got lucky since we only had to wait for 30 minutes as we went midday on a Wednesday. Although, being from Asia, waiting in the freezing cold for 30 mins was big for me, so the real question is, was it worth it?

‘Comme ci comme ça’ is the phrase that comes to my mind to best describe DŌ. The excitement I had to eat all the different flavours of cookie dough combined with the hype and adorable interior automatically put the dessert on a pedestal in my mind!

After standing in line for so long, we decided we had to try out a few flavours: cake batter, red velvet, chocolate dream, confetti, and the signature chocolate chip of course. Next time I visit I probably wouldn’t order this much cookie dough in one go and probably stick to just one or two flavours because after a few bites you can’t tell too much of a difference between the flavours!
